Lower Austria Independent Music (...) An adventurous mindset is about the only thing the bands on this record have in common. They draw their influences and ideas from a diverse array of areas that range from the serious to the absurd and from the pragmatic to the highly complex. From an outside point of view the various parts of this compilation may seem like a concise and tightly woven section of a tiny fraction of all the music on this planet, but diving into the contents offered herein,...

Twenty-six adjectives describing tiny creatures: Delicate, bizarre, cute, vulnerable, tough, ingenious, whimsical, mechanical, spontaneous, quick, primal, weird, hungry, careful, scaly, dangerous, soothing, confusing, grim, inventive, fascinating, efficient, gentle, harsh, strange, smart. Listening to Tiny Creatures is like listening to an intelligent ant colony expatiate upon predicate calculus, Harlequin romances, sour gum balls, the infield fly rule, Ikea furniture, Debussy, and Encyclopedia...

Straight from the Middle East: Sweet Lo-Pop, originating from outsider music, Israeli-style disco, and easy-listening music. Guitar and baby-organ songs. This is the world of Roy "Chicky" Arad.

Alone with its machines, or with a MC (Seiz from X-Makeena), or with a bass guitar player (nalan) or with a DJ (Doc Mau), or with a VJ (hypogé), IOTA furbish a powerful and smart electronica musical performance which links a lot of styles : dub, trip-hop, drum'n'bass... Play !

Adria formed in Malmö, Sweden in the fall of 1999 when the couple Julia and Kristofer decided to make music together having played in other bands apart. With Julia singing and playing the organ and with Kristofer's pre-recorded beats and bass, the duo's take on naive semi-electro-pop songs flowed freely, resulting in their self-released 5 track CDr EP in January 2000, followed by their debut full-length album, "Palaio Faliro" on Speakerphone Recordings.

textadventure is David Roy and Steven Scott from Glasgow in Scotland. Their music consists of davids gentle folk guitars, computer game influenced casio keyboard lines, electronic beat programing and experimental noise, all being carried along by stevens bittersweet vocals about love and murder. The result has been described as Happy-sad tiny-epics.The "Fantastic Disaster" ep is a collection of brand new exclusive tracks embracing the whole textadventure sound, finishing with a cover...

Ever since René Vis [1959] heard music, deep in his heart he wanted to make it. But for many years severe bashfullness held him back. When he was about twenty he played around with a Korg MS20 and began to write songs. Except for some lo-fi tapes made at home, nothing else happened. When he was 35 René learned the basic chords on guitar, bought a second hand Yamaha QY20 and more songs were made. Still mostly unheard by others. Then he bought a pc and went on the Internet. And this is where...

Do you need a heart? Remember those whispering vocals that you hear when you're half asleep? They're composed by Symphonic Stereo. Flowering highpass lyrics against a background of subdued electro-pop.

rasterfahndung from bern (.ch) is one of the rare projects that wonderfully melt acoustic instruments with electronic music. the guitar of niklaus erismann and the laptop of marcel kägi have equal parts in these very harmonic works influenced by studies at bern's music conservatory. their release leads us from sunny-italian guitar chords over to ambient scapes with dadaistic-voices, and back to the classically-influenced maintheme "pizzicato suite". besides being involved in the...

after his limited tinbox-edition "lifeforms" (cd of the month in german "keyboards" magazine 06/02) matthias reinwarth aka xenoton releases this e.p. "interkosmos" on tonAtom. similar to his album "lifeforms" he blends several electronical styles like electro, ambient and minimal, but this time he characterizes a more "spacious" theme with his music. xenoton takes us on an interstellar journey and creates (just when flying by) a coexistence of...
